Paul Pieroni leads a tour of Cookie Mueller + Vittorio Scarpati’s posthumous Putti’s Pudding exhibition at Studio Voltaire, Nov 11

9 November 2017

Curator Paul Pieroni is leading a tour of the Putti’s Pudding exhibition at London’s Studio Voltaire on November 11.

Pieroni will discuss the key curatorial concepts in the show, which reimagines the collaborative artists’ book and project ‘Putti’s Pudding’ (1989) by writer Cookie Mueller and her partner, artist Vittorio Scarpati who both died from AIDS related complications that year. The show features “forty–five original felt–tip pen on notepad drawings made by Scarpati when he lost the ability to speak,” with accompanying texts by Mueller.

The exhibition featured a number of events, including a performance by David Hoyle, a series of film screenings selected by Juliet Jacques and a number of talks by Alice Butler, Adam Christensen, Paul Flynn and Allison Katz, among others.

Owning the Immaterial symposium, May 30

20 May 2014

A group of international speakers will gather for a symposium Owning the immaterial: art, technology and culture at Colchester’s First Site, on May 30.

As part of Aleksandra Domanovic and Simon Denny‘s respective exhibitions, Personal Effects of Kim Dotcom and From yu to me showing at the gallery until June 1, these artists’ work presents a starting point for a dialogue about ownership in the internet age.

Other speakers will include artist and writer James Bridle, writer and Goldsmiths lecturer Mark Fisher, SPACE curator Paul Pieroni, senior curator at the V&A Kieran Long, and writer Charles Graeber.

The panel of writers, artists, and academics will examine notions of property and theft, how they change between material and immaterial worlds, and how power structures shift with the flow of digital media.

See details on First Site event page, and see the full programme for scheduling. **
