Subtle sensitivities: Pavla + Lucia Sceranková present Surface Tensions at Pump House Gallery, Apr 11 – Jun 11

10 April 2017

Sisters Pavla + Lucia Sceranková present their two-person exhibition Surface Tensions at London’s Pump House Gallery, opening April 11 and running to June 11.

Curated by Lily Hall (Pump House Gallery) and presented in organization with Czech Centre London, the show has been developed in response to the space and architecture of the building in Battersea Park. Pavla will present new sculptural installation with a video-performance characterized by “minimalism, subtle humour and sensitivity to surroundings” and Lucia will present new photographic and sculptural work that plays with the line separating reality and fiction. There will also be a temporary public work within Battersea’s Pleasure Garden fountains.

The curatorial premise of the exhibition explores tension in many different directions, including between the two artists, the work itself and the audience.
