Jasmine Johnson @ Genesis Cinema, Oct 25

24 October 2016

Jasmine Johnson is presenting new video work A Perfect Instrument (Kristina) at London’s Genesis Cinema on October 25.

The project was made during the artists’ residency at Vilnius’ RUPERT and coincides with the artists’ commission Upright at Jerwood’s Project Space (running to December 10).

The film is shot around various locations of the city, and follows the Lithuanian actress Kristina Savickytė during her workshops and rehearsals, exploring “the extent to which both an individual and a place must bend and perform for shifting contexts” and is the fourth in a series of video portraits by Johnson.

East End Film Festival, Jun 13 – 25

13 June 2014

The annual East End Film Festival (EEFF) will be returning to London’s East End and running from July 13 to July 25.

Founded 13 years ago, the EEFF has since become one of the UK’s largest film festivals, with a two week-long multi-platform fair that includes international premiers, pop-up screenings, industry masterclasses, and a myriad of live events.

To celebrate its 13 years of success, as well as the festival’s first outing as a fully independent body, EEFF will be hosting it’s Opening Night Gala at Genesis Cinema, the festival’s original birthplace, with the world premier of Ross Clarke’s Dermaphoria
