The festival will not only be bridging the gap between avant-garde film of the 1920s through to contemporary computer and media art, but it will also focus on contributions from the Arab and Islamic-oriented world in the wake of the ‘Arab Spring’ still affecting those regions today. Meanwhile, artists to look out for are London-based artist Karimah Ashadu‘s video work  ‘Lagos Island’, which also featured at this year’s transmediale festival in Berlin, experimental film maker Kerry Laitala, as well as video-essayist (and aqnb interviewee Andrew Norman Wilson‘s inspiration) Harun Farocki.
