Nottingham-based One Thoresby Street is launching Sunscreen’s collection with 40 online works by 40 artists exhibiting outside the internet for the first time on August 27.
Sunscreenis an online project conceived by artist and One Thoresby Street co-founderCandice Jacobs. For the launch, the project joins forces with the artist-led complex of galleries, project spaces and artist studios, as well as its partner, the East Mindlands collective EM15.
The result is a showing of 40 online art works by 40 artists—including Shana Moulton, Joey Holder, Pio Abad, Anna Barham, and Alex Pain—on multiple screens across the One Thoresby Street ground floor galleries.
Founded in 1895, the Venice Biennale is celebrating its 56th round this year, opening a month earlier than usual in the Italian city and running from May 9 to November 22, 2015.
Like always, La Biennale will be stacked with international artists—specifically 136 representing 88 national participants, 88 of which (representing 53 different countries) are showing in Venice for the first time.
Gallery Weekend Berlin is on the week starting April 27, with a slew of events and exhibitions happening in the German city. Notably, Anna Zett, Mikkel Carl and Pakui Hardware are among the artists taking part in the Gislind Köhler-curated Crystal Readings, followed by events at Center, Future Gallery, Sandy Brown and many more Berlin spaces. Marguerite Humeau, Olga Balema, Darja Bajagić and Yuri Pattisonare among some of the artists showing throughout the city, while Black Cracker and Momus are performing live at HAU.
In London, Lisa Holzer is opening Keep All Your Friends at Rowing, Jupiter Woods has a group exhibition including Josephine Callaghan, Andrea De Stefani and Felix Melia to name a few, Michael Welsh, Tabor Robakand Mica Levi (aka Micachu) have shows in New York, and Oslo10 is extending Welcome to Ai Crib! with an installation by Agatha Valkyrie Ice in Münchenstein, Switzerland.
