a.P.A.t.T @ Syndrome sessions 2.0, Jul 25

The first event of the new Syndrome series is hosted by a.P.A.t.T. and takes place at their Liverpool location on July 25.

The new session by the research and performance programme focus on novel approaches to emotional, political and technological control, the pop-up Kitchen Street space having been re-calibrated by a.P.A.t.T. into an industrial dystopia using spatialised sound and project mapping.

Alongside a.P.A.t.T., the event will feature ‘Qwop Dance’ by glitch artists Antonio RobertsRachel Sweeney, a performance of ‘The Nodes of Thamsanqua Jantjie’ (a play by Mark Greenwood and Nathan Jones, with music by a.P.A.t.T. and movement by Sarah Hume), as well as DJs from The Hive Collective.

‘REVOLUTION 02: Dirty New Media’.

For those in the midlands, artist Antonio Roberts will be curating a day of performances and interactive installations at The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham. AV performances, screenings, lectures, workshops, an exhibition and a ‘super special essay’ will be presented by artists from the UK and US, REVOLUTION 02: Dirty New Media runs from 4to 10pm is on Thursday, March 21.

Presented by Vivid Projects, as part of the University of Birmingham’s Arts & Science Festival, (Monday, March 18 to Sunday, March 24), the event is free. It’s sure to showcase some of the most exciting young artists, operating within that realm of using new technology the way you weren’t supposed to, producing something infinitely more interesting in the process.
