“Someone somewhere praying for me.” Grace Jones + the Grotto Capitale group show at Exile, Apr 28 – May 27

The Grotto Capitale group exhibition is on at Berlin’s Exile, opening April 28 and running to May 27.

The show features work by Beatrice Balcou, Kathe Burkhart, Zuzanna Czebatul, Katharina Marszewski & Natalie Häusler, Nschotschi Haslinger, Nona Inescu, Anna Jandt, Hanne Lippard, Kazuko Miyamoto, Chiara No, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Verena Pfisterer, and Paul Sochacki.

The press release reveals little of what to expect, providing only a quote from performer Grace Jones, “But still, built into me was this button – when pressed, the button would save me. I don’t know if I was in charge of this button, or if someone somewhere praying for me was in charge of it.”

The event is is running in tandem with Gallery Weekend Berlin, which opens April 28 to 30.

Irregular Readings II @ Exile, Jul 30

Irregular Readings II is on at Berlin’s Exile on July 30.

Hosted by artist Nancy Davenport —whose Polaroids exhibition is currently on show and will close an hour prior to the event —the programme presents “vocal actions” by artists and writers including Alex Turgeon, Hanne Lippard, Martin Kohout, Patrick Fabian Panetta, and Steven Warwick.

Of the aforementioned artists, Lippard, Kohout and Warwick have each taken part in an aqnb x Video in Common video editorial collaboration, with each artist extrapolating on their work across disciplines, including spoken word, publishing or even script-writing.

Other participants include Anna Jandt, Elijah BurgherKinga KielczynskaSabina Maria van der Linden, Susanne M. Winterling and Trevor Lee Larson.
