Shelter in This Shit Time @ LGLondon, Jul 8 – Sep 3

6 July 2016

The Shelter in This Shit Time group exhibition is on at LGLondon, opening July 8 and running September 3.

Featuring the work of Sam Austen, Marte Eknæs and Andrew Mealor, the press release discusses the type of encounter the viewer might expect between themselves and the works, as well as between the works themselves, using phrasing to describe the sensitivities of curating and certain “formal conjunctions, irreverent material relationships and the blurring of object, image and site” held together by the artists’ practices.

Each of the London-based artists have presented across European platforms. Eknæs has recently shown work with artist collective ÅYR, Mealor in Lock Up International‘s recent group show, Safety Deposit Box, and Austen in large playlist-based Recommended For You group exhibition that took place in London during 2015’s Art Licks Weekend.

See the LGLondon website for further details.**

Flora, Fauna @ KINMAN, Feb 27 – Mar 30

27 February 2014

Group exhibition Flora, Fauna is showing at London’s KINMAN, opening February 27 and closing March 30.

Featuring Rebecca Ackroyd, Celia Hempton, Paul Kneale, Andrew Mealor, Hannah Perry, Neil Rumming and Jack Strange, there’s not much to go on in terms of an exhibition brief except for its title. So in terms of how each artist approaches these biological categorisations of animal versus plant life, you’ll have to go and see for yourself.

Read a recent interview with Paul Kneale and see the KINMAN gallery website for details. **
