SOPHIE et al @ New Museum, Mar 31

31 March 2016

Sophie is presenting the ‘Pupture’ event at New York’s New Museum on March 31.

The artist and producer associated with London-based collective PC Music, since working with the likes of  Madonna, Diplo, and Le1f, has organised a night of live performance and original music,  as well as a panel discussion with Gerry Bibby, FlucT (Monica Mirabile and Sigrid Lauren), Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, Henrik Olesen and Hayden Dunham (who also works with Sophie on QT).

The multidisciplinary artists are invited to talk about “synthesis in art” and the role it plays in a work’s “creation, structure, and meaning”, as informed by a combined experience in dance, sound, music, video, photography, painting, and performance.

See the New Museum website for details.**

25 March 2016

Itinerant exhibition series, Emalin, is presenting the FOLLY group show at an as yet undisclosed location in Stirling, opening March 26 and running to March 28.

Meanwhile, there’s little information given on the FOLLY show itself, aside from an email and phone number to contact for details on the exact location ( or +44 (0) 77 9464 5380) and a list of artists, including Batoeva, with Gabriele Beveridge, Charlie Billingham, Than Hussein-Clark, Jonas Lipps, Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, Cary Kwok and many more.

An essay by writer and critic James Cahill with illustrations by Issy Wood will also be published to accompany the exhibition.

9 July 2015

The Eternal Internet Brotherhood has finally heard the chorus and is launching its 4th edition at the Castello In Movimento in Tuscany’s Castello di Fosdinovo under the new title of Eternal Internet Brotherhood/Sisterhood from July 6 to July 15.

Launching in Greece in 2012, the project took over Edward James’s surrealist park Las Pozas in Xilitla, Mexico in 2013, and the Dead Sea in the West Bank of Palestine in 2014 (reviewed here).

For its fourth instalment, the it invites dozens of artists, writers, curators, designers and researchers—including Sophie Jung, Matthew Lutz-Kinoy, Santiago Taccetti —to develop ideas on the spot and experiment with new concepts under the them of “the spiritual side of technology”.
