White House Black Market @ Kimberly-Klark, Dec 19 – Jan 30

19 December 2015

The White House Black Market group exhibition is on at New York’s Kimberly-Klark, opening December 19 and running to January 30, 2016.

Featuring Ann Hirsch, Alison VeitDébora Delmar, and Ryan Travis Christian, the exhibition comes accompanied by a text on a marketing strategy directed at a target customer called ‘Sydney’ who represents a “middle-to-upper income woman who is well-educated, active, and appearance-conscious”.

The so-called “Business Strategy and Competitive Differentiation” is titled ‘White House Black Market’, promoting a “contemporary, feminine, and youthful self-image” off-set by internal self-doubt:

“a very dark period
so neurotic
you just lose faith in humanity and are totally in a vacuum
wondering if youre othering yourself
i would sit in my car before going in and just cry hahha [sic]
