Re-assembling the corporate setting + slowing down efficient communication in Fenêtreproject’s No Minimum Presence Required

For their new show, Paris-based artist duo Dustin Cauchi and Francesca Mangion of Fenêtreproject appropriate and pull apart “corporate settings and tokens of urban planning” to re-assemble their “embedded codes.”

Familiar sentences and slogans are scattered throughout the space; a circular sculpture hanging like a light fixture reads ‘Show Yourself Out’ in neon writing, ‘(A very straightforward application process)’ and ‘(Secure Your Family’s Future)’ are written at the bottom of a series of large C-prints. Efficiency, communication and orientation begin to break down and lose their original meaning, and “proclamation longs to dissolve into something bigger than itself.”**
