Liberation + laughter: Raphael Sbrzesny explores the carnival in Hunde welche die bellen beissen nicht at Cologne’s PiK

Raphael Sbrzesny presented solo exhibition Hunde welche die bellen beissen nicht at Cologne’s PiK Project Space which ran September 2 to 23.

The visual artist, performer and classically-trained musician created a multimedia installation around the concept of the carnival kiss and drawing inspiration from Mikhail Bakhtin’s literature. Through sculpture, performance and video, Sbrzesny looks at laughter and its liberating potential.

PiK is a non-commercial project space part of the KunstWerk Köln and is run by an independent exhibition committee made up collaboratively of artists and curators.**
