The 2017 edition of Vienna Art Week opens at venues across the city running November 13 to 19.

Brought together under the umbrella theme of ‘Transforming Technology,’ over 70 museums, galleries and independent venues will be host to over 200 events including film screenings, exhibitions, talks, performances, lectures, guided tours and more.

Some highlights include the ‘Artificial Intelligence’ Hackathon, an artist talk with Sofie Muller and Evelyn Loschy in conversation with curator Stef Van Bellingen, group exhibitions Stopover – Ways of Temporary Exchange collaboratively presented by tranzit, ERSTE Foundation and frei_raum Q21  looking at “friendship and exchange, social movements and activism, the historic dimension of imperialism,” and Nils Büttner talking about old masters in Peter Paul Rubens: Allegorical Art and Voyeurism. There is a large program in alternative spaces around the city, including “a bilateral art project on superstition” ATTOKOUSSY الطقوسي at Hinterland Galerie and featuring work by Zainab Andalibe and Leila Sadel among others.
