Manipulate me. Setting the scene for a holistic environment with (Hyper)emotional: YOU at Estonia’s EKKM

The (Hyper)emotional: YOU group exhibition at Tallinn’s EKKM (Contemporary Art Museum Estonia) opened August 4 and is running to September 9.

Curated by Evelyn Raudsepp, the show includes work by Liisi Eelmaa, Corinna Helenelund, Krõõt Juurak, Kimmo Modig, Mihkel Tomberg, Sigrid Viir and Julian Weber. Working collectively for the two weeks prior to the exhibition opening in the Estonian capital, the artists working across sound, choreography, visual, scenography and performing arts created “a holistic environment.”

The project is based around three themes, “collective creation, scenography and emotional manipulation.” Emotional manipulation is explored through theatrical techniques such as light and sound to trigger an emotional response from the audience, as well as the “post-truth condition of emotion-based communication and manipulation in media.”**

The (Hyper)emotional: YOU group exhibition was on at Tallinn’s EKKM (Contemporary Art Museum Estonia), running August 4 to September 9, 2017.
