What happens if we resist optimization? A dedication to the future of labour in Work it, feel it! at Kunsthalle Wien

Part of the 2017 Vienna Biennale and curated by Anne Faucheret, the show includes work by Apparatus 22, Hannah Black, Danilo Correale, Juliette Goiffon + Charles Beauté, Louise Hervé + Chloé Maillet, Shawn Maximo, Sidsel Meineche Hansen, Toni Schmale, Romana Schmalisch + Robert Schlicht, and Visible Solutions.

A dedication to “the work of the future and the future of work,” the exhibition looks at labour, the human body and its relationship to an increasingly robotic workplace. Asking questions about efficiency, discipline, control and the pillars of consumerism, the artists respond to the system of optimization and “what happens to the bodies that resist and escape?”**
