A screening of Valie Export‘s Invisible Adversaries screening followed a discussion by critical theorist of art and feminism Rose-Anne Gush at London’s Deptford Cinema on August 17.

Open to the public, the evening is hosted as part of an Artist-led contemporary art space Banner Repeater‘s Offsite Members Programme. Gush, who is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Leeds, will explore a film by one of Europe’s foremost feminist performance and installation artists. Her project looks at the relationship between artistic labour and what has come to be called ‘body art’.

London based, she has spoken at conferences throughout the UK and internationally, and currently writes for Mute Magazine.
