Launched on Saturday, June 29, and curated by Andrew Norman Wilson and Aily Nash, Dream Factory opened in Amsterdam’s GAK Gebouw a municipal office building in the the Bos en Lommer district, with the accompanying exhibition running until July 27.

Featuring video works by the likes of Harun Farocki, Hito Steyerl and Mark Leckey, Dream Factory explores “various modes of examining new forms of labor, consumption-as-production, and the aesthetics and visual language of globalized lifestyles”. The reappropriation of this all consuming corporate context is an over-arching theme of many of contemporary art’s most interesting practitioners and should serve as a fair survey of artists dealing within these complex and ubiquitous schematics.

Presented by ETCAMA – The Problem of Everything the exhibition that is now showing features works by Bernadette Corporation, Calla Henkel & Max Pitegoff, Nora Schultz, Lawrence Weiner and Ilja Karilampi, appearing throughout the month and coming as a highly recommended cross section to engage with. See the ETCAMA website for details. **
