↓ Goodbye Prince Mehdi
The worst thing about having to say goodbye to DJ Mehdi, one of our French music references, is painfully realizing how young he was and all the projects & amazing music he could have done (and was preparing)… so much we’ll miss from now on…
Born in Hauts-de-Seine the northwestern suburbs of Paris, Mehdi Favéris-Essadi became quickly known as one of the thinking heads of the EdBanger French label but his hip-hop roots (DJ for Different Teep (ex-group of Manu Key & Lil Jahson), Ideal J and former member of the collective the Mafia K’1 Fry) and love to mix & mash all music genres made of him one of the most inspiring figures in the European electro & “disco-hop” scene. The last time we talked about him he was bringing new disco sounds with his Brit friend Riton as Carte Blanche.
Apparently Mehdi and some friends were on the roof last Tuesday of his home in Paris celebrating the birthday of Riton. Mehdi received a fatal injury and three others were hospitalized after the roof collapsed. We’ll see you at the other side prince.
