Such a shame that groups like Dengue Fever don’t receive more attention. They’re are about to release their 5th album already and hopefully “Cannibal Courtship” will grab some more attention than their previous works.
This six-member band have been mixing Cambodian pop music with psychedelic rock for over a decade now and for their new album they’re using an impressive “Mastadong”….
Despite being based in LA they’re obviously much better known in Cambodia where they go on tour very often (right now they’re on their U.S. tour), may because up to their third album they used to sing only in Khmer covering 1960s rock tunes by such artists as Sinn Sisamouth, Pan Ron, and Ros Sereysothea. From their 3rd album they started to introduce some originals… and all the way to their recent Cannibal Courtship (which you can listen to here below).
