Way before bands like Grizzly Bear made the “chamber pop” popular Efterklang (from Denmark) were already mixing delicate melodies with classical sounds. This is their single from the upcoming album “Magic Chairs”…. fly….

↓ An Island
Third teaser just before the release next month of Efterklang & Vincent Moon’s “An Island” … pretty much a live concert shot last summer in the Danish country side… but pretty much … so much more….
You know Efterklang right? And if you don’t, you should. For those of you not knowing Vincent Moon, he’s the French filmaker behind la Blogotheque & who’s always chasing bands to perform for his “take away shows“, truly inspiring.
And int he same inspiring way he locked himself up last August with Efterklang’s 8 piece-live band on a Danish island. The objective was to shoot a film. A film with the same length as an album, and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations.
Over an intense period of 4 days Efterklang collaborated with more than 200 local musicians, kids and parents, creating new performances and interpretations of songs from their Magic Chairs album. It was all filmed by Vincent Moon who same time conducted several filmic and musical experiments with Efterklang as his dedicated play mates (more info on their website of course).
Btw, the film is screening starting February the 1st in Denmark and going across the whole world… (always for free) so you may want to see if there’s a city near where you live and check the film out.
