Simetrías

, 21 January 2011

Born in Madrid but having developed big part of her career & works in Belo Horizonte (Brasil) Sara Ramo’s Simetrías exhibition (Symmetries) keeps making the world Tour, if last year she exhibited in Paris, London, Madrid & Turin this year she’s starting with Barcelona @ Estrany-de la Mota gallery…

After making herself a name across Brasil, Sara Ramo became well known in our old Europe a couple of years ago with her PhotoEspaña exhibition & her later participation at the Venice Biennale.

Her works try to explore the endless possibilities offered by our day to day living, our local world, which is always suitable for our inexpert eyes to observe & analyze it. She tries to transform these experiences into something familiar by putting her actions, videos, photographs or installations in domestic scenarios. Sara’s works include many series of piled-up objects, disposed as a game of endless possibilities. These objects represent a fascination for the individual and his environment and many times tend to suggest links with other topics such as cultural habits & personal elections.

Improvisation, emotions … and unique moments. Simetries are 7 of her latest works where you’ll find amazing suitcases where to carry a whole house, symmetry games, invasive nature… and her always challenging photography.

So if you’re in Barcelona before February 12th… you know what to do and where to go right? … Estrany de la Mota: Passatge Mercader 18.
