As if we didn’t have enough Balearic & psychotropia groups out there the London trio “Is Tropical” (Gary Barber, Simon Milner & Dominic Apa) just released their single “South Pacific”… although we have the feeling these guys have more rock than pop in their veins…Is Tropical have signed with French label Kitsune and are currently on tour in the UK & Europe (they’ll be playing with Hot Chip & LCD Soundsystem in Paris), so if you have the time & a few ££€€€…. you should know they play with faces veiled (“the take the stage in their trademark masks, and cloaked by self-made video projections, they improvise constantly changing soundscapes, effortlessly swooping from raw pop anthems to lo-fi dance songs”)…
They describe their music as a bass heavy, beat driven, pop-influenced lo-fi dance music and their first album will be released early next year.
