↓ Music: Venison (also known as… The Strokes)
Four years after… The Strokes are Back! A couple of solo albums (one for Julian, another for Albert) and a long awaited 4th album and everyone thinking they would never make it to the fourth (expected by the end of this year)….
And under the pseudonym of Venison the NY band which made the rock be born again in the early 00s appeared in Candem Town in front of 500 very fortunate & speechless people. They were all there: Julian Casablancas, Albert Hammond Jr, Nick Valensi & Fabrizio Moretti. With their traditional cool attitude, the problem is… they didn’t play any new song!!!! (18 from their previous gigs).
The band tweeted the information on their official twitter and told their fans to meet in a certain location, then, Dingwalls (where the concert took place) said they would only be selling the tickets on-line. The site went down obviously and some paid up to £400 for a ticket on resale. The buzz and also the fact that NME confirmed all this.
Here are a couple more vids shot by one of those lucky fans (the sound is quite band…. today’s phones u know…).
They also played last Saturday at the Isle of Wight festival.
