Whim: Lacie Starck

↓ Whim: Lacie Starck

Lacie is rather well known for their stylish designs than for the quality and endurance of their hard-drives (which are fairly good to be honest). We’re used to their minimalistic and expensive designs, and this time they’ve partnered with French designer Philippe Starck to create a pair of their well known jewels.

The first one is this “Starck Mobile” hd…

with an embedded USB cable coming in 320 or 500GB flavors (for around 100 or 140 € depending where you buy them)…

The second one is the bigger “Starck Desktop” hd….

also with a 3mm of resistant aluminum casing, the Starck signature LED and a customizable touch-sensitive surface. 1TB or 2TB flavors for around 130 or 250 €…. cheap huh? Well… it’s Lacie! The price you pay for showing off!

And an interview about how both brands (Starck has become a brand himself) came to conceive this product.
