my electro party

↓ my electro party

When you love electro in any of its forms (house, trance, minimal, electropop, hardcore, disco, industrial, chillout ….. or just “electro”) differentiating quality from crap or underground from commercial is many times impossible.

Saying Daft Punk are gods of the French Touch just because they were lucky enough to remix . Cerrone or Breakwater isn’t quite right. Saying the opposite……. is also a blasphemy.

As we say in Spanish, opinions are like asses, everybody has one. However we tend to agree (without thinking) when our favourite radiodj, website or friend gives us a trustworthy recommendation or late discovery.

Personally I use a varied number of sources …

1)    Residentadvisor: very clubby

2)    Discogs: The database

3)    Codamagazine (French) fairly objective & professional

4)    Electronicbeats: commercial but delicately chosen

5)    Beatsinspace: our weekly radio show

6)   …

Other universal sites where you may find more easy-listening (but still quality) artists: Pitchfork, Lesinrocks (French.. they’ve lost their objectivity), Rcrdlbl, Iguessimfloating, thehypemachine…

You also have some records which have “traditionally” released nice stuff, like… K7, Katapult, Haywire, Kompakt, Astralwekrs,…..

You’ll probably see I have a specific taste. Don’t hate me is just what my friends taught me.

Please enrich this list :)

See you @ Rennes
